ISLAMABAD –National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defence will be held on Thursday (March 3) here at the Parliament House.
The meeting will be chaired by Sheikh Rohale Asghar and other members of the committee. According to the notification, the meeting will scrutinise the budgetary proposals of the ministry relating to the public sector development programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2016-17 as required under rule 201(6) of the rules of procedure and conductof business in the National Assembly 2007.
The meeting would also focus on the issue as raised in the calling attention notice moved by MNA Dr Ibadullah regarding difficulties including deprivation of civil amenities being faced by the residents of village Sultanpur, Havelian, Abbattabad due to non-separation of said area from the cantonment board of Havelian.
According to another notification, Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources will also meet on Thursday. The meeting will be chaired by Bilal Ahmed Virk and other members of the committee. The meeting will confirm the minutes of the meeting held on February 23, 2016, comprehensive briefing on liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal (Port Qasim) in Karachi followed by question and answer session and the visit of the LNG terminal port in Karachi.
The meeting of Standing Committee on Housing and works will be held on Thursday.The meeting will be chaired by Muhammad Akram Ansari and other members of the committee. According to the notification, the meeting will discuss the implementation status of the recommendations of the committee made in the meetings held on August 24, 2015,September 4, 2015 and December 22, 2015 and further discussion on the allotment of government accommodation in the light of the recommendations.
The meeting will also present the projects dualisation and improvement of Mandra-ChakwalRoad (64km), Sohawa-ChakwalRoad (66.405km) and Mosa Khail-TounsaRoad (35km).
