ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday congratulated the financial managers, businessmen, brokers and entrepreneurs of the country on achieving the 40,000 historic benchmark of Pakistan Stock Exchange.
“The vibrant performance of the stock market is essentially the reflection of our sensible economic and financial policies for which the economic team of the government deserves appreciation,” the prime minister said in a statement.
“The economic revival of Pakistan has always remained the top priority and we (PML-N government) will not rest until this country achieved sustained economic growth and prosperity,” he said.
The benchmark 100-share index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange closed 0.14% higher, or 55.72 points, at 39,861.60. “The performance led the market to close at an all-time high,” Topline Securities Equity Sales Manager Hammad Aman said.
